Description: Red is the definitive colour for this lamp. Where the grey variant of the EWÅ Värnamo gooseneck lamp reads as quietly functional, the red reads as a declaration — the same resolved industrial design, but with a presence that commands a room. In 1950s Sweden, this kind of bold colour application in industrial lighting was genuinely forward-looking, and it remains as visually effective today as it was then.
The lamp follows the same considered design logic as its grey sibling: an organically cast iron base with integrated push-button switch, a flexible brass gooseneck stem that allows precise directional adjustment, and a conical shade finished in red wrinkle lacquer with a circumferential perforation pattern that softens the light at the shade's edge. The wrinkle lacquer — a finish achieved through controlled paint-shrinking — gives the metal surfaces a tactile depth that flat lacquer cannot match, and in red it takes on a particular warmth and intensity.
EWÅ Armaturfabrik, founded by Erik Wärnå in Värnamo, Sweden, produced compact and highly functional lamps whose formal clarity and material quality have made them enduring favourites among collectors of Scandinavian Mid-Century design. The manufacturer marking on the base confirms authenticity.
Condition: The lamp is in very good vintage condition. The red wrinkle lacquer is intact and vivid, retaining its original depth of colour. The brass gooseneck is flexible and holds position. The integrated switch functions. The electrical components should be inspected by a qualified electrician before use.

Product Safety
This lamp is an original vintage piece. Prior to sale, a visual and functional inspection was carried out (cable, plug, socket, strain relief) as well as a test run. It has not been comprehensively tested in accordance with current VDE standards. Due to its age, the electrical components may pose risks (e.g. aged insulation, missing earth conductor). Before connecting to the 230V mains, it is therefore strongly recommended to have the lamp inspected and, if necessary, updated by a qualified electrician. Use is at the owner's own risk.
