Highlights: Designer: Ezio Didone Manufacturer: Arteluce, Milan, Italy Model: Corolle Period: c. 1990s Origin: Italy Style: Italian Modern Special feature: Frosted opal glass shade in two configurations — closed oval or open three-petal corolla form Socket: E27, max. 250W, 220/240V Condition: Significant lacquer damage to stem and base — restoration project Original manufacturer label intact
Description: The "Corolle" floor lamp by Arteluce takes its name from the botanical term for the ring of petals that forms a flower — a reference made visible in the lamp's defining feature: the large frosted opal glass shade, which can be configured either as a closed egg-shaped oval or spread open into three petal-like elements, revealing the organic form that gives the model its name. The slender stem rises from a stepped circular base, the whole composition achieving a restrained elegance characteristic of the finest Italian lighting design of its era.
This example carries its original Arteluce manufacturer label intact on the underside of the base. The glass shade is in good condition with no cracks or chips visible. The damage is confined entirely to the lacquered metal components — the stem and base — where substantial paint loss has occurred in multiple areas. For a buyer with the skills and inclination to restore, this is an opportunity to acquire an authentic Arteluce piece at a restoration object price.
Condition: The frosted opal glass shade is in good condition with no visible cracks, chips or breakage. The metal stem and base show severe lacquer damage: multiple large areas of paint loss and chipping on the stem at mid and lower section, and extensive flaking at the centre of the base disc where the stem meets the base. The electrics appear intact but must be inspected and approved by a qualified electrician before use. Sold strictly as a restoration object.
