Description: This desk lamp was produced in the 1940s/50s and follows the classic piano lamp design — originally developed to illuminate sheet music and keyboards. Particularly characteristic are the elongated cylindrical reflector in horizontally ribbed grey lacquer with white interior for optimal light reflection, the adjustable V-shaped chrome arm, and the rectangular base in grey lacquered metal with chromed edge trims. The lamp features two original French metal bayonet sockets inside the reflector, providing even, wide illumination across sheet music or work surfaces. The V-shaped chrome arm allows precise angle adjustment of the reflector, directing light exactly where needed. A rectangular toggle switch on the front of the base provides convenient switching. The lamp combines functional, directed task lighting with the clear, technically reduced formal language of European post-war industrial design, and works equally well as a usable desk lamp and as a characterful collector's piece. In the room it reads as graphic, technically elegant, and timelessly industrial — particularly effective on a desk, piano, or architect's table in combination with wood, leather, or other Mid-Century and industrial elements.
Condition: Age-appropriate good vintage condition with visible but attractive patina and signs of use. The grey plastic coating on the reflector and base shows light scratches, edge abrasion, minimal paint chips, and fly marks inside the reflector; chrome parts display light tarnishing and discolouration. Note: at two points on the top of the reflector the plastic coating is slightly deformed, caused by heat from bulbs beneath — see photographs. Green felt on base underside. The electrics are functional but do not conform to current technical standards and should be inspected by a qualified electrician before use.

Product Safety
This lamp is an original vintage piece. Prior to sale, a visual and functional inspection was carried out (cable, plug, socket, strain relief) as well as a test run. It has not been comprehensively tested in accordance with current VDE standards. Due to its age, the electrical components may pose risks (e.g. aged insulation, missing earth conductor). Before connecting to the 230V mains, it is therefore strongly recommended to have the lamp inspected and, if necessary, updated by a qualified electrician. Use is at the owner's own risk.
