Description:
This floor lamp was designed and produced in the 1980s by Ingo Maurer for M Design. Particularly characteristic are the opal white Murano glass body, the widely projecting conical shade in white, the soft line quality, and the refined, restrained colouration. The lamp unites a calm, atmospheric quality of light with the clear design signature of Ingo Maurer, and works equally well as a functional light object and as a decorative collector's piece.
Of particular note is that this lamp is published in "Ingo Maurer — Designing with Light" by Bernhard Dessecker, on page 181, bottom right — a documented provenance that underlines the historical and design significance of the model. The example also carries an original M Design sticker, confirming direct origin from Ingo Maurer's own firm, as well as an original Venini / Vetri Murano sticker that additionally attests to the authenticity and material quality of the glass body. The lamp is in complete original condition, including electrics and foot switch.
