Description: The Festa — Italian for celebration or party — is one of Michele De Lucchi's most poetic designs, and one of the most distinctive pieces to emerge from Produzione Privata, the design label he founded in 1990 as a vehicle for small-scale, craft-oriented production that sat outside the industrial manufacturing logic of his work with Artemide and Olivetti.
The lamp's central formal idea is a contradiction resolved with elegance: a mirror-polished dome shade that reflects light upward and outward rather than directing it downward, paired with a laser-cut metal branch crown that encircles the suspension point like a wreath. The branch crown is the piece's signature — an organic, handcrafted-looking element in a design otherwise defined by precision metalwork, and a reference to the natural world that runs through much of De Lucchi's design vocabulary from this period. Together, shade and crown create a pendant that reads as simultaneously celebratory and intimate, architectural and natural.
Michele De Lucchi (born 1951) is one of Italy's most significant designers of the late twentieth century. A founding member of the Memphis Group alongside Ettore Sottsass, he subsequently developed a practice of extraordinary range: the Tolomeo desk lamp for Artemide (Compasso d'Oro, 1989), the design of Olivetti's office equipment, and the intimate, craft-oriented pieces produced under the Produzione Privata label. The Festa belongs to this last category — a lamp made in small numbers for a discerning audience, and now a collectible of considerable significance.
Two pieces are available.
Condition: The lamps are in very good vintage condition. The mirror-polished dome shades are intact. The laser-cut branch crowns are complete. The electrical components have been visually and functionally inspected and tested; inspection by a qualified electrician is recommended before extended use.

Product Safety
This lamp is an original vintage piece. Prior to sale, a visual and functional inspection was carried out (cable, plug, socket, strain relief) as well as a test run. It has not been comprehensively tested in accordance with current VDE standards. Due to its age, the electrical components may pose risks (e.g. aged insulation, missing earth conductor). Before connecting to the 230V mains, it is therefore strongly recommended to have the lamp inspected and, if necessary, updated by a qualified electrician. Use is at the owner's own risk.
