Description: Paul Follot ranks among the important French designers at the threshold between Art Nouveau and Art Deco. This signed table lamp of c. 1905 displays his characteristic combination of floral and geometric motifs. The carefully modelled base in silver-plated bronze and the harmoniously proportioned shade create a highly elegant, almost furniture-like overall impression. On the underside of the base there is a striking, hand-engraved dedication "À Jean Faure" as well as the large, stylised monogram "PF". This engraving in all likelihood refers to the art collector Jean Faure (1862–1942), whose significant collection is today housed in the Musée Faure in Aix-les-Bains. The lamp can furthermore be identified with high plausibility as the model "Foliage" (Laubwerk), which Paul Follot designed around 1904/1905 for the Parisian gallery La Maison Moderne. Comparable pieces with identical engraving and form have already been published in international art catalogues and trading platforms. As a historical original, this lamp serves not only as an atmospheric light source, but above all as a fine craft collector's piece for high-quality interiors, collections and representative spaces. It integrates superbly into classical, historical or eclectic settings and appeals in particular to connoisseurs of Art Nouveau and early Art Deco objects. The historical attribution as the model "Foliage" with dedication to the collector Jean Faure is supported by stylistic analysis, the engraving (monogram "PF" and "À Jean Faure") as well as published comparative pieces in international art catalogues and online archives.

Condition: Very good, age-appropriate condition with beautiful patina and light signs of use. Particularly well preserved given its age of over 100 years.
