Description:
This pair of wall sconces was produced in Italy, attributed to VECA (Veca S.r.l., Osnago), during the 1960s/70s heyday of Italian colored glass lighting. Each sconce is built from two mirror-set panels of thick, faceted cobalt-blue glass in an organic, blade- or leaf-like silhouette, held together by a brass crossbar secured with hexagonal brass bolts. The sconces mount to the wall via a square nickel-plated backplate and each house a single E14 socket. When lit, the deep saturated blue glass refracts the light beautifully, throwing a dramatic sculptural glow across the wall.
