Description: EOS Nässjö occupies a particular place in the canon of Swedish Mid-Century lighting. Based in Nässjö — a town in Småland, the province that formed the industrial backbone of Swedish manufacturing — EOS produced lamps that embody the best values of Scandinavian Modern without ever achieving the international recognition of Ateljé Lyktan or ASEA. That relative obscurity is precisely what makes surviving examples interesting: they are authentic period objects from a well-documented manufacturing tradition, unencumbered by the premium that more famous names attract.
This desk lamp is a textbook example of what the best Swedish regional producers delivered in the 1950s. The base combines teak — the signature material of Scandinavian Modern — with brass in a quietly considered composition. A brass collar marks the transition between base and stem, and the integrated rotary switch sits flush with the base in a detail of functional refinement. The organic grey hammer lacquer shade sits above with the same material logic as the EWÅ Värnamo lamps: a finish with tactile depth that flat lacquer cannot replicate, in a form that balances directional efficiency with visual restraint.
The underside carries the Swedish SEMKO quality mark — the electrical safety certification that confirms the lamp was manufactured to the high standards of Swedish industrial production. For collectors, this mark is a precise dating and authenticity tool.
Condition: The lamp is in very good vintage condition. The teak base is intact with the warm patina of genuine age. The brass fittings and collar show light age-appropriate oxidation. The grey hammer lacquer shade is intact. The rotary switch functions. The electrical components should be inspected by a qualified electrician before use.

Product Safety
This lamp is an original vintage piece. Prior to sale, a visual and functional inspection was carried out (cable, plug, socket, strain relief) as well as a test run. It has not been comprehensively tested in accordance with current VDE standards. Due to its age, the electrical components may pose risks (e.g. aged insulation, missing earth conductor). Before connecting to the 230V mains, it is therefore strongly recommended to have the lamp inspected and, if necessary, updated by a qualified electrician. Use is at the owner's own risk.
Manufacturer
About EOS Nässjö EOS was a Swedish lighting manufacturer based in Nässjö, a town in the province of Småland – the traditional heartland of Swedish manufacturing industry. The lamps were produced at least during the 1940s and 1950s and correspond in material and craftsmanship to the high standard of Swedish fixture production of that era: teak, brass and lacquered steel, manufactured under the supervision of the Swedish quality mark "S" (Semko/SEMKO standard). EOS is today one of the lesser documented among the numerous Swedish regional producers of that golden age of Scandinavian Modern – making surviving examples sought-after rarities for connoisseurs.
