Sculptural table lamp "Twister" by Harco Loor Design, Netherlands, c. 1980. This light object, built from a spirally wound stainless steel mesh with multiple solid glass light bodies, reads more as a light sculpture than a conventional lamp — a powerful focal point for contemporary interiors.
Highlights:
Spectacular light sculpture by Harco Loor Design, Netherlands, c. 1980 Dynamically twisted brushed metal mesh as sculptural body Multiple solid glass light bodies with trapped air bubbles for sparkling reflections Reads as a freely floating light sculpture in the room — a presence even when switched off Ideal as an accent lamp on sideboard, console, or in modern loft interiors
Description:
Harco Loor is known for handcrafted lamps in which light and sculpture merge. This object shows that signature particularly clearly: from a round, flat metal base rises a slender rod that transitions into a mesh of spiralling, finely dimensioned metal wires. The wires twist upward across multiple levels, carrying crystal-clear glass light bodies with trapped air bubbles that, when switched on, produce a vivid play of reflections and shadows. The open construction means the lamp reads differently from every angle — at times graphic, at times almost organic. The light sources sit within the glass bodies, emitting warm, focused light that works ideally as atmospheric accent lighting. Placed on a sideboard, credenza, or low plinth, the Twister becomes an autonomous light sculpture — a commanding focal point in modern, minimalist, or eclectic interiors.
Condition:
Very good, well-maintained condition with light, age- and use-related marks on metal and glass — minor surface scratches and minimal irregularities — without significant damage. All glass light bodies are complete and the wire mesh is stable. Note: some of the glass bodies have small chips at the edges where they are pressed into their sockets — see photographs.

Product Safety
This lamp is an original vintage piece. Prior to sale, a visual and functional inspection was carried out (cable, plug, socket, strain relief) as well as a test run. It has not been comprehensively tested in accordance with current VDE standards. Due to its age, the electrical components may pose risks (e.g. aged insulation, missing earth conductor). Before connecting to the 230V mains, it is therefore strongly recommended to have the lamp inspected and, if necessary, updated by a qualified electrician. Use is at the owner's own risk.
Manufacturer
Harco Loor is a Dutch lighting manufacturer founded in the early 1980s, producing its designs in its own manufactory in Haarlem. Characteristic features are hand-crafted lamps that combine art and function: organic forms, flexible stainless steel and aluminium constructions, and inserts of glass and crystal. Many models can be individually customised and bear the personal signature of designer Harco Loor, who regards each lamp as an independent light object.
